As Thailand’s representatives, Lt. Gen. Sittipol Nimnuan, Director- General of Thailand Mine Action Center (TMAC), Joint Operation Command, and his team accompanied by authorities from Department of ASEAN Affairs, attended the 11th Steering Committee of ASEAN Regional Mine Action Center: ARMAC held between December 16-18, 2019 in Phnom Penh, the Kingdom of Cambodia. The meeting allows the participating Thai attendees to know its operating principles and roles of ARMAC which it is believed to greatly benefit Thailand Mine Action Center (TMAC) in upholding closer cooperation regarding ASEAN’s Mine Action. Furthermore, the meeting also gave the opportunity for Thai participants to meet and develop closer ties with the International Private Development organizations and Cambodia’s Mine Action Center. The meeting is expected to promote Mine Action in Thailand and cooperation in clearing landmines along Thai-Cambodia Border to successfully complete TMAC’s Missions based on the 5-year worked plan.
